Social action has long been a priority for the United Church of Canada, both abroad and domestically. Currently, important domestic initiatives include reconciliation with indigenous peoples, efforts to end gender-based violence, and anti-racism efforts. International efforts include stopping the demolition of Palestinian villages, protesting the Israeli military detention of children and helping with aid to ease the destruction of natural disasters in the Asia Pacific region.
